    1. Huh. I’ve been buying both their 100% Californian and the global blend and never noticed this. I use the 100% when I’m adding it directly to a dish, and the global blend when I’m frying or something. Both are pretty good.

    2. The brand is California olive ranch. It’s clear that it’s a global blend from the label

This is similar to California Pizza kitchen pizzas being made in Wisconsin.

    3. Just one of many little hills i’d be thrilled to die on; it really chaps my hide that deceptive business names are a thing. I know i know, cant have rules for businesses. Cue about 15 years ago i was sick as a dog and asked a friend to grab me some honey because i was out and wanted some whisky/honey/lemon. I asked her to grab a local honey because i like to shop local, i like the pollen from my geographic area, it’s damn good. What does she come over with? A plastic bottle with the words LOCAL HIVE in huge letters. It’s not her fault, she didn’t know. She got the one that said local. But OMG why in the everloving hell is this not deceptive? It is, and it’s really not a big deal at all.. but it is. it’s dishonest. You cant collect a little honey from every region in the us and call is local honey… you just cant. Just the same, you cant call your damn product california anything and then include zero percent in the medium print. Clearly they know what they’re doing.

    4. It’s to avoid a lawsuit. A couple years ago, there was a lawsuit against a dried pasta company because they called it “Italian pasta”, but had nothing to do with Italy. There was also a recent lawsuit against a company that made Hawaiian rolls, because the product had nothing to do with Hawaii (if my memory is correct)

that’s the everyday cooking stuff; nmost california olive are not worth pressing into that low quality mash. this is how it should be.

Get thier premium stuff if you want cali olives

This is like those olive oil mayos with olive oil listed way down the ingredients list.

    7. The majority of “olive oil” in supermarkets contains only partial (if any) olive oil in it. It’s usually fake. A lot of honey too. Just syrup.

    8. Did you look on the shelf literally next to this bottle where they sold the actual olive oil sourced from California and not the cheaper Global blend? The bottle looks exactly like this one but with different words.

    9. “Global Blend” is highlighted in a different colored text. They need to stay in business especially with their access to labor being limited by you-know-who and his regime. How much longer? Over 3 years?
